My day is made meaningful today (: After a numberous meeting and long planning tgt with my GESL ever since sept, we finally executed our proj today at one of the children's home (: I was really looking for today bcoz it reminds me of the bridging period. Haha.
The home did not look as bad as i expected. There was a small multi-purpose hall, basketball court and playground etc. For the first half of the day, the children played some games and learnt mass dance:D The first group that is in the talent time station was awesome! One of the children is only 4 yrs old!! And she is very cute!Haha although they quite paiseh, they were quite on and did a pretty good job(:
When the first group were supposed to proceed to the next station and i was supposed to stay at the talent station, one of the children pulled me to bring me to the next station. I felt happy ^^The next station was scissors, paper stone. After playing, there were still some more time so Hui Er played other songs. Oh man..they actually knew how to SING and DANCEEE "telephone", "baby" by justin bieber, "parachute" and "lady gaga". OMG. All of us were awed by them.
After awhile, one of the group was quite emo and some children started to play tantrum, emo and cried 0.0 All of us were quite take aback.
When the first half of the day was done, all of us were quite tired xD We had lunch tgt nearby the children's home. I was really happy when Hui Er told me that just now one of the children asked her where i was when i was not around xD Form the bottom of my heart, i was really happy. I didn't expect that.
After lunch, it was art and craft time! Diyana and my time! LOL. But it was quite messy sia when the children started to play around. Luckily, we have the rest to control them. During the session, they made bookmarks for themselves and frens. Suddenly, one of the children actually wrote smth for me! I dun really know him until the art and craft session when i helped him. At the moment, i was quite touched, really. I kept holding the paper and made sure i dun lose it. After making the bookmarks, they were to decorate their photoframes:D Some drawings were quite abstract.
Then uh oh, chu zhuang kuang le. The photos couldn't be printed from Mr Chia's printer so Simin they all gonna ran down to nexx to print. This means more waiting time =extra time! We were quite lost of what to do so we decided to let each group of children to perform their mass dance xD LOL. All of them looked at me and zul to follow the dance steps. Some children giggled at me xD Haha but nvm la, just hope they enjoyed the mass dance(: After everyone had performed, it was a showtime from us! LOL. Zul and Husna sang while Ian strummed guitar and Murale played drums! COOL. They managed to get the children to settle down and sang tgt (: When they were singing, i was with one of the children. Then he took my hp and see. He saw the pic which i took with nich and bk. And he said, i saw him, this uncle. At first, i thought it was nich coz he was quite in front and the face is quite clearly seen. He said, "nonono, this one". LOL. bk. I asked him where he see him, is it in the home or outside? He said, " in my dream". LOL!! Funny sia. I dunoe what to say le so i le him played some of the games in my hp. Haha.
Finally, it was tea party time provided by macs! :D I was really happy to see the smiling faces on the children when they ate (: And i cheng ji took photos with them at every table ^^ And it was prize giving ceremony time and every group got to take one hamper each. haha and finally GESL proj ended!! Wee~ We were quite happy and satisfied!!
Before we went off, we did reflection and share our experiences there. When it was my turn, i stumbled loh, as usual xD So i asked Wei Yi to continue next then come back to me xDD When it came back to my turn and i said wadever thing i wana said, Murale suddenly said, " i wanna say one thing about her (me). She got one weakness. Sorry ar i always pick out people's weaknesses. That is, she dun dare to speak up. But actually she is quite an active person. I was quite surprised about what she did today.......so i think she can do it" I guessed he was saying i was quite active talking and bonding with the kids. So I just need to speak out more and ta da, everything will be alrite. I was quite surprised Murale said that but i am happy hat he said that. Coz he let others and most importantly me to be aware of myself as my strength is acknowledged and i know what weakness can be better improved on(: And i shall do so starting from today.. Thanks Murale (:
Our group finally "broke ice" on monday and totally melted today :D Everyone is finally bonded and we are really happy! We got to know our group members better and better:D However, at one hand, we felt a sense of satisfaction, on the other hand, Some of them complained about the facilitator not helping us much eg. only attended meetings out of so many, and gen guo fen going off even before today's activities ended! I was rather pissed off by that too. But on the bright notes, he did buy us breakfast (as promised) and if he was to help us in the first place, our team might not be as bonded as it is seen today (: Whatever that is happened today is largely attributed to our collective effort to plan and execute everything all by ourselves. And i am proud of my group, really (: From disliking the group at the very start (due to conflicts) to liking it (very much) today:D
