The extraordinary father of nation.

Sunday marks the end of Mr Lee's final journey.

Throughout the last week, everyday seems to be  trying day for me, as a Singapore citizen, and as a teacher. I mourned and cried buckets of tears for Mr Lee like what others did, yet, I needed to be brave and professional in front of my students, and not crying.  My usually chatty father who loves to talk about political and current affairs, fell into unusual silence and read through  articles about Mr Lee at one corner. It was a really an unusual sight to see him behaving that way and I that he didn't comment anything about Mr Lee's passing. My father was also mourning, too.
With Mr Lee's passing, Singapore has become the attention across the world. We can see clearly see the extent which Mr Lee has impacted beyond Singapore. I am deeply touched by the strong determination by fellow Singaporeans while Q-ing at Padang to pay last respect to Mr Lee, as well as grateful to the the army and volunteer helpers who maintained orderly and ensured that our well-being are taken are of (such as giving us water, food and asking us to spread out so that we can breath better in a super huge crowd.

As much as everyone wished he could come back, we had to accept this harsh truth. It was then, finally, a Sunday for Mr Lee's funeral. This day, alot of us have teared even more buckets, as Mr Lee's body past by main notable areas which has so much memory about him, for the last time. Tears became to flow profusely down my cheek as I listened to the eulogies from different people.

I wish, time would fly back to the time when I attended the ministerial talk at NTU with Mr Lee. I wish, I could have paid more attention to him and asked him questions. I wish..

Don't know why, Mr Lee's passing has impacted greatly on me. Till today, another start of the week, I still kind of have not gotten over his passing. I would still be reading up news and stories about him, and even teared when I thought of him. The feeling is overpowering. Yet, he has become my main motivation so far to look at the horizon, follow that rainbow, and go ride it.

On the final note, I am truly touched by the eulogy by Mr Lee's Grandson, Li Hongyi:

"Ye Ye showed me that you could make a difference in this world. Not just that you could make a difference, but that you could do it with your head held high. You didn't have to lie, cheat, or steal. You didn't have to flatter, charm or cajole."

"We should remember him less as a man who gave us great gifts, and more as a man who showed us the kind of people we could be."

Yes, we could, and we should :')
